Central Hilside: Nestled into the hillside above downtown and striking views of Lake Superior and the harbor, the Central Hillside neighborhood is one of the oldest and most historic communities in Duluth. The area is predominantly urban residential and consists of single family homes, duplexes, triplexes, and apartment buildings. The business district is located at 4th Street and 6th Avenue East and offers access to jobs, transit and medical services. Other amenities include Sacred Heart Music Center, neighborhood commercial services complemented by the large medical district, which occupies several blocks. Central Hillside is home to approximately 3,800 residents of varied ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.
